Job Description:

Energy services company has an immediate opening for a VP Operations.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is very attentive to detail, knowledgeable about the oil and gas industry, motivated by the breadth of work functions in the position. This individual will oversee the daily operations, maintenance and processes associated with running the pod facilities, production planning, and operations of equipment. We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and hard-working professional with an engineering degree, familiar with water services/operations, and a desire to work for a growing fast-paced, corporate organization. In addition to exceptional leadership and analytical skills, you must have a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude. This position will report directly to the CEO.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage activities associated with the operation and processes associated with the plant and pod facilities.
  • Provide leadership of the engineering and water side of the business with a strong emphasis on process development and control; create a technical vision for the Company in the implementation of new technical projects or processes. Analyze and evaluate existing technologies to enhance processes or implement new innovative processes.
  • Ensure plant technical requirements are properly incorporated in the engineering deliverables.
  • Develop equipment layouts to ensure ease of operation and maintenance; design and recommend changes to plant electrical and mechanical systems for continuous improvement and maximize earnings.
  • Ensure good engineering practices are followed at all times during new system design, implementation and system augmentation.
  • Ensure that the equipment meets all safety codes and regulations, engineering codes and requirements, and cost budgets as specified by the project design documents.
  • Recommend measures to improve operations, including conditions of machines & equipment; maintain clear and concise records of Planned Maintenance and Repairs.
  • Plan and prepare the capital equipment requirements in association with Engineering and Water Projects; present capital expenditure recommendations to the President for approval.
  • Maintain open communication within area of responsibility.  Keep employees informed as to company/department plans and progress.
  • Develop and expand relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Assist in liaising with related local and governmental agencies concerning environmental issues; maintain a proactive approach to regulatory permit compliance to avoid negative impacts to the business and to capture opportunities.
  • Ensure that environmental permits, reports, plans and other environmental requirements are complete, current, properly implemented and that reports are submitted in a timely manner; ensure that all environmental incidents are promptly and properly reported, investigated, and documented and that corrective action items are completed within appropriate time frames.
  • Resolve customer and/or supplier quality problems.
  • Oversee the objectives, policies, and programs for the engineering and water side of the business.
  • Negotiate quality requirements with customers and suppliers, and assure compliance with agreed requirements through implementation of rigorous production procedures, regular system audits and necessary corrective action.
  • Provide effective, understandable reporting systems to regularly and systematically monitor and assess the quality performance of the products and processes.
  • Establish (Key Performance Indicators) KPI’s for employees.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or other related engineering field.
  • Minimum of up to 10 years of successful line management experience and operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success with full life cycle- conceptualization & requirements, system design & supplier selection, installation, testing, commissioning, & troubleshooting/support.
  • Self-motivated drive to help “the team” improve through people, process and technology.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% to the Permian Basin
