The Director of Business Development position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan for which would increase revenues and profits. This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Implement the recommendations of the strategic marketing plan.
- Perform market research and analysis.
- Furnish marketing advice, counsel and general staff support to all departments within the organization.
- Evaluate operational issues to determine whether competitive and staying current with the latest trends in the industry.
- Monitor external and internal environment for development of new market segments.
- Assist in or produce feasibility studies/business plans for new product development.
- Develop marketing campaigns for new products and services. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure plan for each.
- Manage specific corporate programs.
- Development of brochures or other print or electronic ads to market corporate services.
- Responsible for recruitment and orientation of subordinates.
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and supports, mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Assist in planning of any event that highlights corporate services.
- Assist in developing an evaluation process to gain feedback from constituents.
- Develop and maintain business development budget.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of extensive business development experience in the refinery, chemical, manufacturing, etc. markets
- Experience in supervising other Business Development associates
- Strong technical background, engineering background is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to be a proactive team member
- Possess solid and Successful Experience Selling Industrial Services
- Must know current target markets / Customers (Refineries, Chemical Plants, Large Manufacturers, etc.)
- Must have strong technical background (engineering background is preferred)
- Has contacts at both the site and corporate levels
- Must know our current market activities

- Distribution / Warehousing / Logistics

- Small cap projects and mechanical installations
- Brings a deck of ”Rolodex” cards and has deep relationship with target customers
- Will hit the ground running and produce sizable contracts within the first 90/180 days
- Well versed in preparing and giving presentations, quotes, bids
- Intermediate computer skills, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
